Picture of President Reagan

A political party cannot be all things to all people.  It must represent certain fundamental beliefs, which must not be compromised to political expediency or simply to swell its numbers....  And if there are those who cannot subscribe to these conservative principles, then let them go their own way.

 Membership Application Cover Sheet

All applicants who would like to join PAChyderm must complete our application and be approved by the Executive Committee. Be advised that all PAChyderm members are expected to take an active role in the organization. Please read each information point below. Thank you.

 1.    PAChyderm Philosophy. PAChyderm is organized as a Membership Organization that has also established an Arizona Political Action Committee (PAC). We are guided by the political principles of Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan and the current Party Platform. We are Conservative Republicans, but not everyone who calls himself a Republican is accepted as a member.

“A political party cannot be all things to all people.  It must represent certain fundamental beliefs, which must not be compromised to political expediency or simply to swell its numbers....  And if there are those who cannot subscribe to these conservative principals, then let them go their own way.”—Ronald Reagan, March 1, 1975

2.    How We Operate. We operate apart from but parallel to the regular Republican organization. Our objective is to place our members in positions of leadership within the GOP at all levels, thereby reshaping it into the victorious party that elected Ronald Reagan to two terms. We strongly urge our members to become GOP precinct committeemen—first by appointment and then by election. This is encouraged and expected because only elected PCs can vote in district-wide and statewide elections for GOP officers.

3.    PAChyderms In Action. In the Arizona primaries over the last six years, more than four out of five legislative candidates endorsed by PAChyderm were victorious. Numerous "moderate, liberal and RINO" Republicans were defeated by Ronald Reagan conservatives in those campaigns. We are proud to have contributed to those elected conservatives who now are a majority in the caucus.

In addition, PAChyderms played a key role in electing conservative Republican Party leadership at the county and state levels since 2000.  This was possible only because conservatives were elected as precinct and state committeemen from across the state.

4.    The Next Step. If you are a registered Republican, and, after reading the above information, you believe that your political philosophy is the same as ours, continue to the back of this application. Read each issue statement carefully. Then, to indicate your commitment to these issues, initial in the space provided at the end of each issue statement. Complete the information at the bottom of the page and submit it to our Membership Chairman.

5.      Independents. Those registered as independents are not eligible to join PAChyderm. However, we understand that many independents are Ronald Reagan conservatives who have left the GOP in disgust because of its “big-tent” philosophy of recruiting anyone and everyone willing to put an “R” next to his name.  The Republican Party, trying to be all things to all people, has only succeeded in being lukewarm and created a disastrous series of political defeats for the GOP.

We welcome you to join us, but you must first re-register as a Republican. Go to the PAChyderm website for more info at http://pachydermcoalition.com or contact your local county government.
